Chad received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and both his massage certificate and his Associate’s Degree in Massage from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. A competitive athlete throughout high school and into college, Chad became interested in physical therapy and massage therapy after suffering two serious shoulder injuries. During Chad’s massage training, he interned with the University of Colorado’s Athletic Department and Colorado’s Arena Football team, the Crush. During this clinical experience, he was exposed to a broad range of athletic injuries, including strained muscles, IT band syndrome, shin splints, dislocation and subluxation, and even deep thigh bruising. Upon completion of his massage certificate, Chad decided that he wanted a better understanding of Sports and Orthopedic massage, which led him to pursue his Associate’s Degree and additional training in the treatment of sports injuries and orthopedic abnormalities. Chad’s style of bodywork is a combination of deep tissue modalities, trigger point therapy, and sports massage. Working with these tools, Chad is able to treat postural deviation, chronic pain associated with postural deviation, and sports or recreational injury to help his clients get back on track with their health and wellness. Another part of Chad’s work involves passing along his knowledge to his clients to help them understand the source of their pain and what they can do at home in concert with massage to relieve that pain. Knowledge is half the battle; when knowledge is relayed, recovery will soon follow. Chad is an avid cyclist (mainly mountain biking) and, being new to the Boston area, is always looking for new terrain to ride. |
