Originally from Manchester, England, David holds a Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine and is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, Ca. He also completed a 700 hour massage therapy program, graduating from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington, Ct.

While in Acupuncture school David apprenticed for 3 years with a master practioner focusing mainly on acute and chronic injury and worker's compensation claims. Since 2001 David has been intensively studying advanced Acupuncture and Herbal medicine seminars in New York City with world-renowned Daoist Master Practioner and Priest, Jeffrey C. Yuen, 88th generation lineage holder of the Jade Purity school of Daoism. From Jeffrey he has learned to apply Chinese medicine in the classical manner, using the original source texts of Chinese medicine beginning in the Han dynasty (200 B.C.E.)

David enjoys employing all modalities of Chinese Medicine from external techniques like cupping, moxa and gua sha to the use of Chinese herbal medicines externally and internally. He also uses essential oils therapeutically. He integrates his Chinese medical training into his massage practice, choosing the most appropriate techniques to benefit his client.

David has a wide ranging practice- he has extensive experience treating injuries and pain, but also has a strong interest in treating what are called 'knotty' or difficult to treat diseases, such as MS, Parkinson's, arthritis, Spirit-Mind-body disorders, and women's health issues. His goal is to expand awareness of the vast scope of practice of Chinese Medicine- noting that it is 'not just for pain'. He believes the dictum of his teacher, who states 'there are no incurable diseases, just incurable people'. He is excited to join the BBW staff. David's interests include travel, cycling, cooking, yoga and laughter.
