Therapists: Copley: Heidi Stucker, LMT, NCTMB |
|
A native of western Massachusetts, Heidi graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) in Ithaca, NY, where she completed studies in a wide range of massage modalities. Later she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from Warren Wilson College, a small school in the hills of western North Carolina. Over the years she has developed her practice to integrate the massage approaches she learned while at FLSM, gravitating towards deep tissue massage. She has worked with a range of clients, including athletes, individuals recovering from injuries and surgery, and pregnant women. In the past years she has pursued continuing education courses in Applied Kinesiology, Orthopedic Assessment, and sports massage for rotator cuff injuries. At the core of her massage, Heidi seeks to address the varying needs of each individual, and tailors her massage to those needs. She encourages clients to become empowered agents of their own health and will ask for their participation in attaining the health they seek. With a background in sustainable agriculture, Heidi is a self-proclaimed foodie, and when away from her massage table might be found flinging dirt on a nearby farm. If not in the fields you're likely to find her staying limber, stretching into pretzel-like yoga positions. Heidi holds national certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and National Certification and is a member of the American Massage Council. |
