Jennifer Koh Boston Neuromuscular Therapy Jennifer, a Belmont native, graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor's Degree in English before moving on to the Massachusetts College of Art to pursue a degree in Graphic Design. During her career as a designer, she sought out her first professional massage to address shoulder pain produced by hours spent in front of the computer. Her experience learning about body mechanics and the factors that contributed to her shoulder pain left a profound impression. She eventually decided to go back to school for her degree at the Muscular Therapy Institute (now the Cortiva Institute) and embark on her journey as a bodyworker.

As a student, Jennifer became fascinated with the different ways to treat certain conditions - especially when coupled with conditions such as bulimia and multiple sclerosis. This fascination eventually brought her to Pre and Perinatal Massage. She studied with San Diego based Carole Osbourne-Sheets and coupled her formal education with the informal education of working with loved ones as they navigated through the twists and turns of pregnancy for the first time. Her experiences led her to Isis Maternity providing pre/perinatal massage for other mothers and remains a strong part of her practice in Arlington.

Outside of pregnancy massage, Jennifer has contributed sports massage to events such as the Pan Mass Challenge and the Avon Breast Cancer Walk and has provided corporate chair massage to many companies around the Boston area including events such as MacWorld and the American Baby Faire. She brings her knowledge as an Usui Reiki I practitioner to the table and continues to build upon her foundation in deep tissue, Swedish and trigger point work. Jennifer is currently a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

In addition to her ongoing relationship with muscular therapy, Jennifer also practices vinyasa-style yoga at the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. Having refined her own practice through five years of study, she recently finished the curriculum to become a teaching assistant and will soon be seen at the Baptiste studios providing a safe space for others to explore and deepen their own practices. She also enjoys Horton-style Modern Dance classes with Jean Appolon and cheering on her friends in theatrical performances around the Boston area. When prodded, she will sheepishly admit to the more-than-occasional "cookie day" and the less-than-occasional sport of full contact napping.
