Stephanie Carpenter Boston Sports Massage Therapy

"I have been going to see Stephanie for a weekly massage for the past year and she has changed my life. It is more appropriate to say that she has given me my life back! For over 6 years my neck and back were in terrible shape as the result of an accident. My neck, shoulders and back were in constant pain and I could not sit, work or function at normal capacity. Thanks to Stephanie's care, I am now working, going to school full time and I am living the pain free life that I never thought I would have again! My doctor remarked that Stephanie is a gift from God and I could not agree more!"

With an aunt who is not only a massage therapist but, opened her own massage therapy school, it is no wonder Stephanie always had an interest in massage therapy. Although this interest started merely as giving "back rubs" to friends and family, with every "hey you are really good at this, you should do this for a living" Stephanie began to think more and more seriously about the idea. Meanwhile she attended two different colleges, but did not really know exactly what she wanted to do. Admittedly, when she started massage therapy school she was still undecided on what her plans were for the future, and was not completely sure that she wanted to become a practicing massage therapist. It was more of a decision to go to school for something she knew she loved to do, not a career choice move. However, once in school it became more and more clear that this was not just something she enjoyed doing but something she wanted to do.

Stephanie attended massage therapy school in New Hampshire were the program requirement is an extensive 750 hour. She didn't let the requirement stop her however, and put well over the required 750 hours working in the school massage clinic. Stephanie's studies consisted of everything from Eastern modalities, including acupressure and eastern medicine theory, to kinesiology and postural analysis. An interest in energy work born out of both fascination and an initial, but brief skepticism lead her to look into Reiki. She took classes outside of school with a Usui Reiki master and became certified in both Reiki I and II. Her greatest passion, however, was and still is Neuromuscular and trigger point work, not only because of her interest in it but her seemingly given talent for it. Knots be gone!

After she graduated from massage therapy school Stephanie moved to her favorite city, Boston of course, and worked at a spa off Newbury Street for two years. The move to Boston was a complete dream achievement, living in a city she had always dreamed of living where she was doing work that she truly loved. Here, Stephanie practiced and perfected her basic Swedish massage skills, as well as learning how to integrate neuromuscular work and other modalities into a massage based on her clients' needs. Stephanie continues, working hard each day to make sure every client gets her personal best, which she continuously strives to improve through practice and experience.
