Healthy Holiday Apps!

Tis’ the season for eating. Yup! It’s that time of year again when we not only eat more than we should, but eat what we really shouldn’t. That said, i’ll be the first to tell you that anything in moderation is not only OK for you, but can do wonders for you mentally and emotionally. No, they may not be the healthiest foods and they may not be good for your weight loss goals, but if I have learned anything in my life, it’s that failure to stop and enjoy the small things is just as unhealthy as not working out, too.

The annual tradition of eating is a part of any religious holiday this time of year. Why not experiment with some foods that can be both delicious as well as healthy. They may not be as simple to prepare like baking Christmas cookies or eating a candy cane, but well worth the effort. Who knows, maybe some of these recipes will become a tradition in your home. Besides, the other great part of the holidays is spending time with family. These recipes are a great way to achieve both traditions.

In my search for some unique holiday flare, I found these recipes to be the most intriguing.

1. Spinach Cheese Balls
2. Crispy parmesan cauliflower bites with garlic ranch dip
3. Roasted Pumpkin Hummus
4. Smoked salmon and cream cheese cucumber bites
5. Goat cheese stuffed figs with pancetta
6. Sweet Potato Rounds With Herbed Ricotta and Walnuts

I’m personally looking forward to #2. Which one will you try? Let us know if any of these made the cut this year at your celebrations.
