The Buzz

"This place is legit, I've only ever had AMAZING massages here. I'm a runner and consistently have tight muscles in my legs from high mileage so I use Boston Bodyworker as maintenance to prevent injury by getting monthly massages. I like deep tissue massage because I think it's most effective, so this place is perfect for me. It's obvious all the staff have a deep understanding of how muscles function because they always find the tight muscles and work them out, and even use active release. So I feel like I'm getting a massage and PT session. Love it."-Sarah

What is Tennis Elbow?

‘Tennis Elbow’ is a condition that we frequently see in our practice. Unfortunately, it is also one of a family of similar conditions that is both misunderstood and mistreated. Most people who have been diagnosed with this condition will scoff at the name since they do not even play tennis. It gets its common name…

Red Cup Lives Matter

I am a cup. I come from a long line of cups. My mother was a cup. My father was a cup. My grandparents, great grandparents and extended family are ALL cups. We come in all shapes and sizes. Recently, my wife and I had some cups. We had some difficulties, like many cups do;…

A Pound of Feathers

Which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks? As kids we may have been to naïve to think that a brick and a feather could weigh the same, but the reality we all embrace is that a pound will always equal a pound. The same logic holds true when you consider…

Boston, You’re My Home!

A couple of weeks ago, some friends of mine were visiting from Canada. I was so excited to show them around Boston and give them a true Boston experience. We did some of the typical things such as a night at Fenway Park, dinner on Newbury Street at Stephanie’s and of course they wanted to…

Cheers To Summer!

Last week I was fortunate to score a couple of last minute tickets to the Sox vs. Yanks game. As I was heading into Fenway with my 7 year old daughter along Storrow for a beautiful night at the ball park, traffic came to a sudden stop in a place where those of us who…

NSAID’s: Adding Insult to Injury

NSAID’s; Adding Insult to Injury Fact: When an injury is sustained, the natural reaction of our body is to produce an inflammatory response directly to the area. This is an essential characteristic of the healing process. Without inflammation, the injury would simply never heal. So if that is a fact, why is our natural response…

Life Hack: Tasty Treat for Your Pet

Since this newsletter discussed the surgery that my dog had to go through, I thought that I would include a simple ‘Life Hack’ that my 10-year-old daughter showed us that came in handy. When she showed this to us a few weeks ago, my wife and I thought it was a nice idea and that…

What is The Best Kind of Massage?

One of the best parts of running a massage business is that you get to meet so many different people. The stories and personalities mold and shape the Boston Bodyworker community. We are fortunate to spend time with so many amazing people who are doing such remarkable things for not only themselves, but also charity.…

Can an Old Dog Teach You Something New?

Last week I had to make a determination to have my dog, a 12-year-old black lab, to undergo surgery to remove what we believed to be a lipoma. Lipoma’s are commonly found in animals, as well as people. Perhaps you have noticed one of these lumps on yourself and were curious about what it may…
